Community-Led Vision for Donegal: Meet the Northwestern Development Partnership

The Northwestern Development Partnership (NWDP) is a voluntary group of over 25 local individuals, formed in November 2024 with one mission: to develop a strategic and sustainable growth plan for Donegal Town that reflects the needs and ambitions of its community.

Made up of residents, business owners, professionals, and community leaders from various sectors, the group is committed to shaping a brighter future for Donegal Town through collaborative, people-first initiatives.

As part of our commitment to transparency and inclusion, we’re thrilled to launch our new website and share more about who we are, what we do, and how you can get involved.

Who Are We?

The NWDP is a cross-section of the Donegal community, including sports club leaders, artists, tourism professionals, religious leaders, and business owners. Each of our members contributes unique experience and insight through participation in one of seven key working groups:

Community Consultation: Your Voice Matters

We want to ensure that what gets developed is what the community actually wants. That’s why we’ve launched multiple surveys to hear directly from you.

In December 2024/January 2025, we surveyed over 4,000 members across 23 local sports clubs to assess the need for sports facilities. We have also conducted an Arts, Culture & Entertainment survey with over 700 responses from local people.
